| About What's a fanlisting? To quote TheFanlistings.org, a fanlisting is "a web clique that lists fans of a particular subject. Fans from around the world submit their information to their approved fanlisting and they are then listed to show their love for the subject." Basically, a listing of fans from all around the world. :D Empire Strikes Back? Is that the one where Luke finds out Darth Vader is his father? Yes. ;) One of the best movies of the series, Episode V is a rather depressing story, actually. Following the Rebel Alliance's great victory in Episode IV, the Empire strikes back, as it were, and hunts down the Rebel Alliance. They locate and attack their base on Hoth, and the rebels flee. Luke, having seen a vision of Obi-Wan that told him to search out old Jedi master Yoda, goes to Dagobah with R2-D2. Han, Leia, Chewie, and C-3PO go to Cloud City to seek refuge with Han's old friend, Lando. Luke trains on Dagobah with Yoda for a while, honing his Jedi skills. During an exercise one day, however, he has a vision of his friends in danger. Lando betrayed Han to Darth Vader, who had anticipated the rebels' arrival to Cloud City and forced Lando's cooperation. Luke arrives at Cloud City, but he is too late to help Han, who has been frozen in carbonite and given to the bounty hunter Boba Fett. Lando, Leia, Chewie, and C-3PO are able to escape Darth Vader's clutches with the help of Cloud City security forces while Luke has a showdown with Vader himself. In a tense and emotionally charged fight, Darth Vader first physically incapacitates Luke by cutting off his hand, then mentally devastates him by revealing that he didn't kill Luke's father, as Obi-Wan had previously told him: Darth Vader is Luke's father. Luke, horrified and confused at this revelation, drops down the chasm he had been dangling over, catching onto an antenna underneath Cloud City at the last moment. Leia, sensing Luke's presence through the Force, urges Lando, at the helm of the Millenium Falcon, to return for Luke. They retrieve him and make their getaway from the Empire. The story ends with Luke - his amputated hand having been replaced with a mechanical hand - looking towards the stars, with Leia, C-3PO, and R2-D2 by his side. What does the future hold?
